Cookie notice

Last updated: January 2022

Xplor Technologies uses cookies, mobile IDs and similar technologies on our websites (including xplortechnologies.com), apps, and related products and services, such as our payment processing platform and our software solutions for Payments, Fitness & Wellbeing, and Home Services (collectively “Products and Services”). Your use of the Products and Services is subject to this Cookie Statement.

This Cookie Notice explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information using cookies and similar technologies including your choices regarding cookies, and further information about cookies.

What are cookies, mobile IDs, and similar technologies?

We use cookies, web beacons, mobile analytics and advertising IDs, and similar technologies to operate and provide our Products and Services.

Cookies are small text files placed by a website and stored by your browser on your device. A cookie can later be read when your browser connects to a web server in the same domain that placed the cookie. The text in a cookie contains a string of numbers and letters that may uniquely identify your device and can contain other information as well. This allows the web server to recognize your browser over time, each time it connects to that web server.

Web beacons are electronic images (also called “single-pixel” or “clear GIFs”) that are contained within a website or email. When your browser opens a webpage or email that contains a web beacon, it automatically connects to the web server that hosts the image (typically operated by a third party). This allows that web server to log information about your device and to set and read its own cookies. In the same way, third-party content on our websites (such as embedded videos, plug-ins, or ads) results in your browser connecting to the third-party web server that hosts that content. We also include web beacons in our email messages or newsletters to tell us if you open and act on them.

Mobile analytics and advertising IDs are generated by operating systems for mobile devices (iOS and Android) and can be accessed and used by apps in much the same way that websites access and use cookies. Our apps contain software that enables us and our third-party analytics and advertising partners to access these mobile IDs.

We may also use so-called “flash cookies” (also known as “Local Shared Objects” or “LSOs”) to collect and store information about your use of our Products and Services. Flash cookies are commonly used for advertisements and videos.

How do we and our partners use cookies, mobile IDs, and similar technologies?

We, and our analytics and advertising partners, use these technologies in our Products and Services to collect personal information (such as the pages you visit, the links you click on, and similar usage information, identifiers, and device information) when you use our Products and Services, including personal information about your online activities over time and across different websites or online services.

This information is used to store your preferences and settings, enable you to sign-in, analyze how our websites and apps perform, track your interaction with the site or app, develop inferences, combat fraud, and fulfill other legitimate purposes.

We and/or our partners also share the information we collect or infer with third parties for these purposes.

Except as otherwise noted, information collected, used, and disclosed as described in this Cookie Notice is governed by our Privacy Notice.

The table below provides additional information about how we use different types of cookies and your choices:

Type of Cookies

Purpose

Your Choices

Essential cookies

These cookies are required for our Products and Services to provide basic functions such as managing website traffic, login, enforce our Terms of Use, prevent fraud and maintain the security of our site or online service.

For example, some of our Products and Services have trackers such as Google Tag Manager and Adobe Typekit embedded in them.

Because these cookies are essential for our Products and Services to function, you cannot opt-out of these cookies.

Personalization Cookies

These cookies are used to streamline and personalize your experience on our Products and Services allowing us to store your preferences and saved settings.  So, when you return, our services will recognize and remember your settings.

Disabling these cookies may result in our Products and Services not working as desired.

Depending on the Product or Service you’re using, you can opt-out of these cookies by using the choices in the appropriate cookie banner or following the directions in the “What are your choices and controls?” section below.

Analytics Cookies

These cookies help us improve the functions of our Products and Services by collecting metrics about how users interact with our services and measuring activity on our Products and Services. For example, these cookies collect information about how much time users spend on our website, the individual pages visited on our website, links clicked on, etc.

We use services such as Google Analytics and Facebook Connect to enable our analytics cookies.

Please click on the links above to view their privacy policies.

To opt out from data collection by Google Analytics, you can download and install a browser add-on, which is available here.

You can opt-out of these cookies on our Products and Services by using the choices in the appropriate cookie banner or following the directions in the “What are your choices and controls?” section below, depending on the website you’re using and your location.

Targeting cookies

These cookies are placed on your computer by our advertising partners to display relevant advertisements to you. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant advertisements or content on other sites. If you do not allow these cookies, you will still see advertisements, but you may receive less relevant advertising or content and some features of our site may be impacted.

We engage with advertising partners such as DoubleClick to provide our Products and Services.

You can opt out of cookie-based tracking for personalized, targeted advertising through our advertising partners, by using the choices in the appropriate cookie banner or following the directions in the “What are your choices and controls?” section below, depending on the website you’re using and your location

The length of time a cookie will stay on your browsing device depends on whether it is a “persistent” or “session” cookie. Session cookies will only stay on your device until you stop browsing. Persistent cookies stay on your browsing device until they expire or are deleted (i.e., after you have finished browsing). The expiration time or retention period applicable to persistent cookies depends on the purpose of the cookie collection and tool used. You may be able to delete cookie data as described in this Cookie Notice.

What are your choices and controls?

These choices are specific to the browser you are using. If you access our Services from other devices or browsers, take these actions from those systems to ensure your choices apply to the data collected when you use those systems.

  • Browser cookie controls. Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can go to your browser settings to learn how to delete or reject cookies. If you choose to delete or reject cookies, this could affect certain features of our Products and Services. If you choose to delete cookies, settings and preferences controlled by those cookies, including advertising preferences, may be deleted and may need to be recreated. As the precise means by which you may do this will vary from browser to browser, please visit your browser’s help menu for more information. If you choose one of these options, your choices will apply only to the specific browser and device from which you opt out and will not affect activities on other browsers or different devices. Please note also that if you choose to reject or remove cookies, this may prevent certain features on our Products and Services from working properly. Many browser manufacturers provide helpful information about cookie management, including, but not limited to:

  • Mobile analytics and advertising ID controls. iOS and Android operating systems provide options to limit tracking and/or reset the analytics and advertising IDs.
  • Do Not Track. Some browsers have incorporated "Do Not Track" (“DNT”) features that can send a signal to the websites you visit indicating you do not wish to be tracked. Because there is not a common understanding of how to interpret the DNT signal, our websites do not currently respond to browser DNT signals. Instead, you can use the range of other tools to control data collection and use, including the cookie controls and advertising controls described above.

Privacy Rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have certain rights with respect to cookie and tracking information. Please review our Privacy Notice [SR1] or contact us using the information below for more information.

Changes to Our Cookie Notice

We will update this Cookie Notice as needed to reflect changes to the cookies we use or as required by applicable law. When we post changes to the Cookie Notice, we will change the “Last Updated Date” at the top of this Cookie Notice. If any material changes are made to this Cookie Notice, we will provide notice regarding such changes and/or take such other actions as may be required by law.
