Cookie notice

Last Updated: January 2023
Effective Date: January 2023

Xplor Technologies uses cookies, mobile IDs and similar technologies on our websites (including xplortechnologies.com), apps, and related products and services, such as our payment processing platform and our software solutions for Payments, Fitness & Wellbeing, and Home Services (collectively “Products and Services”). Your use of the Products and Services is subject to this Cookie Notice.

This Cookie Notice explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information using cookies and similar technologies, including your choices regarding cookies, and further information about cookies.

What are cookies, mobile IDs, and similar technologies?

We use cookies, web beacons, mobile analytics and advertising IDs, and similar technologies to operate and provide our Products and Services.

Cookies are small text files placed by a website and stored by your browser on your device. Some cookies are deleted once you close your browser (“session cookies”), while other cookies are retained even after you close your browser, so that you can be recognized when you return to a website (“persistent cookies”). More information about cookies and how they work is available at www.allaboutcookies.org. The text in a cookie contains a string of numbers and letters that may uniquely identify your device and may contain other information as well. Persistent cookies can later be read when your browser connects to a web server in the same domain that placed the cookie, which allows the web server to recognize your browser over time, each time it connects to that web server.

Web beacons are electronic images (also called “single-pixel” or “clear GIFs”) that are contained within a website or email, among other sources. When your browser opens a webpage or email that contains a web beacon, it automatically connects to the web server that hosts the image (typically operated by a third party). This allows that web server to log information about your device and to set and read its own cookies. In the same way, third-party content on our websites (such as embedded videos, plug-ins, or ads) results in your browser connecting to the third-party web server that hosts that content. We also include web beacons in our email messages or newsletters to tell us if you open and act on them.

Mobile analytics and advertising IDs are generated by operating systems for mobile devices (iOS and Android) and can be accessed and used by apps in much the same way that websites access and use cookies. Our apps contain software that enables us and our third-party analytics and advertising partners to access these mobile IDs.

We may also use so-called “flash cookies” (also known as “Local Shared Objects” or “LSOs”) to collect and store information about your use of our Products and Services. Flash cookies are commonly used for advertisements and videos.

How do we and our partners use cookies, mobile IDs, and similar technologies?

We, and our analytics and advertising partners, use these technologies in our Products and Services to collect personal information (such as the pages you visit, the links you click on, and similar usage information, identifiers, and device information) when you use our Products and Services, including personal information about your online activities over time and across different websites or online services.

This information is used to store your preferences and settings, enable you to sign-in, analyze how our websites and apps perform, track your interaction with the site or app, develop inferences, combat fraud, and fulfill other legitimate purposes, as well as make our Products and Services more useful to you.

We and/or our partners may disclose the information we collect or infer with third parties for these purposes.

Except as otherwise noted, information collected, used, and disclosed as described in this Cookie Notice is governed by our Privacy Notice.

The table below provides additional information about how we use different types of cookies and your choices:

Functional Cookies

These cookies are used to streamline and personalize your experience on our Products and Services allowing us to store your preferences and saved settings.  So, when you return, our services will recognize and remember your settings.

Disabling these cookies may result in our Products and Services not working as desired.

Depending on the Product or Service you’re using, you can opt-out of these cookies by using the choices in the appropriate cookie banner or following the directions in the “What are your choices and controls?” section below.

Targeting cookies

These cookies are placed on your computer by our advertising partners to display relevant advertisements to you. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant advertisements or content on other sites. The length of time a cookie will stay on your browsing device depends on whether it is a “persistent” or “session” cookie. Session cookies will only stay on your device until you stop browsing. Persistent cookies stay on your browsing device until they expire or are deleted. The expiration time or retention period applicable to persistent cookies depends on the purpose of the cookie collection and tool used. You may be able to delete cookie data as described in this Cookie Notice.

A list of cookies that may be in use on each of our websites is available on a Cookie List page found on the respective sites.

What are your choices and controls?

These choices are specific to the browser and device you are using. For that reason, if you access our Services from other devices or browsers, we recommend that you take these actions while using those other systems to ensure your choices apply to the data collected when you use those systems.

  • Browser cookie controls. Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can go to your browser settings to learn how to delete or reject cookies. If you choose to delete or reject cookies, this could affect certain features of our Products and Services. If you choose to delete cookies, settings and preferences controlled by those cookies, including advertising preferences, may be deleted and may need to be recreated. As the precise means by which you may do this will vary from browser to browser, please visit your browser’s help menu for more information. If you choose one of these options, your choices will apply only to the specific browser and device from which you opt out and will not affect activities on other browsers or different devices. Please note also that if you choose to reject or remove cookies, this may prevent certain features on our Products and Services from working properly. Many browser manufacturers provide helpful information about cookie management, including, but not limited to:

  • Mobile analytics and advertising ID controls. iOS and Android operating systems provide options to limit tracking and/or reset the analytics and advertising IDs.
  • Do Not Track. We generally recognize commercially reasonable opt-out preference signals (e.g. Global Privacy Controls, Do Not Track). Recognition of this signal will only occur with respect to the device and/or browser that communicates the signal, such that you may need to update your preferences on every device or browser you use to access our services.

Privacy Rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have certain rights with respect to cookie and tracking information. Please review our Privacy Notice or contact us using the information below for more information.
